Brighten the Flame of Magic Within You!
Event Details: A spark of magic burns within each of us. As we deepen our work, the embers catch and begin to glow more brightly, drawing the light into the world. The flame of our work warms tempers our lives, forging us into new paths and new outlooks on life. This seminar is designed to help you fan those flames through an understanding of the magic available to you.
One of the most important parts of modern paganism is the use of magic. While there are many books that have been written on the subject, however they can only take you so far. Direct, personal training is often hard to find, as many magical systems are taught one-on-one or in small groups after the seeker has been vetted. These groups have their place, and they have been important throughout our history. Yet, for those who do not have access to them, enhancing their magical skills necessitates a trial-by-error approach.
The work of the solitary magician is not the only setting in paganism. Often small or large groups of pagans, witches, magicians, and druids come together to effect change magically. These groups can have people with various levels of expertise, and the ritual leaders must be able to weave these energies together to achieve the group’s goal. When things go well, the energy raised can not only achieve the goal desired, but can transform and empower all the participants as well.
This seminar is designed to be a bridge between two shores. We want to breach the gap between private magical practice, and working magic with pagans in small and larger groups. We also want to give an opportunity to move beyond learning through reading and provide an arena where we can learn magic by actually doing magic with people who have proven experience.
Three Cranes Grove, ADF, is proud to present our second seminar: an all-day set of workshops, discussions, and exercises open to the entire Pagan community! The theme of this seminar is "Private Practice to Public Ritual: Magic!" We will be focusing on developing skills and practices that can take you from a pagan who does magic to a pagan where magic is an integral part of your spiritual life, whether you choose to work alone or with a group.
The seminar is presented by Three Cranes, but the content is not only applicable to Druidry: indeed, anyone who works magic, whether public or private, will benefit from this event! We will discuss methods of making your personal work more effective, provide instruction for beginners and old hands alike, and talk about ways to deepen your experiences, even if you aren't leading the work.
The primary aim of the seminar is to help Pagans of all traditions, paths, and philosophies develop their personal practice, for it is through the work done at your personal altar that you can build the experience and knowledge to do work on a public stage. The seminar is strongly focused on this personal practice, and is "non-denominational" in terms of its theology: we will not be teaching "Druid-specific" work, and believe that many of the principles we discuss will be broadly beneficial to the larger Pagan community, regardless of path. Our goal is to teach each person how to rely on their inner power to better connect with the power of other people, and with the spirits that surround us.
