Event Details: There is no ritual or sumble. We sit in something of a circle, I provide the materials (usually 25 stanzas of the Poetic Edda, right now we're reading it, and when we're finished, we'll decide what to read next, it'll be awhile though.) We go in a circle and each attendee reads the stanza. If it's confusing we talk about what it means. If we have personal gnosis, we share that. Sometimes even a story relating to what we read.
We go in that manner until it's finished, that we bid each other farewell. I provide the reading material for everyone, and there's no need to read in advance. I also provide snacks and beverage. I try to supply a good German Beer, bottled water, a few different soda's, cheese and crackers.
It's really almost a beginner thing, because aside from a few newer members, most of us have not read the Eddas in their entirety, including myself. But of course, seasoned folks are welcome too, and appreciated for sharing their wisdom.
I like to make it easy to attend by not requiring any previous reading, no purchases or donations are asked, and it's short, so not burdensome on our busy lives. So far, it seems to be going really well.
We usually have a lot of ladies, and children, who are welcome and also can participate.
