Sacred Belly Dance Classes with Diana Grayfox
Event Details: Diana teaches American Tribal Style Belly Dance (ATS) with a focus on the spirituality of dance and the movement of life energy (prana, chi, qi, ki, etc.) . ATS is a modern style of belly dance that includes elements of traditional Raqs Sharqi and folkloric dance movements from India, Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Spain. It is danced as a group using complete improvisation which facilitates the energetic connection between all the dancers. There is a set vocabulary of movements that each dancer knows allowing a "lead and follow" format where one dancer will lead the movement and the other dancers are able to follow. The lead shifts and is shared among all the dancers equally according to each individual's comfort level.
