When: Oct. 26th. 2012 - Oct. 31st. 2012
Where: Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania

The Folk Lore of Witches Feast

Event Details: The final day of October, All Hallows Eve, traditionally marked the end of summer and the beginning of winter. It was a time of reflection, both of past events and of loved ones who had recently died. At the same time, the evening provided a chance to look forward to what the new year would bring (like our modern New Year's Eve) .
So, if thee would like to experience something new and learn at the same thyme, our Folk Lore of Witches Feast and Celebration will be something for thee!
If thee would like to attend an olde fashioned wake before the feast, be thee at The Olde Log Cabin Homestead no later than 6:00 p.m.
The wake will be followed by an evening of feasting for twelve at The Olde Log Cabin Homestead. Sadie will offer an authentic 1800s five-course supper, some of which will be prepared over a fire in the cabin's large fireplace.
On Friday, October 26; Saturday, October 27; Sunday, October 28; Monday, October 29; Tuesday, October 30; and Wednesday, October 31 supper will be served promptly at 6:30 p.m. Be thee not late!
Following the feast there will be a thyme of exploring Olde Century Customs (learning about broomsticks, goats, crows and cauldrons) ; Herbal Legends (did thee know that Yarrow is the witch's favorite herb, or where Rosemary grows the missus of the cabin is the master?!) ; and Folklore about Witches and Their Beliefs (the word "witch" translated from the Anglo-Saxon word "wicce" means "wise one" and witchcraft literally means the craft of the village wise woman.)
