Chol Roman announces...

Community Lughnassah!

When: Aug. 3rd. 2012
Where: New Braunfels, Texas

Come join us as we celebrate the turning of the wheel!

Event Details: For followers of nature-based spiritual paths the dynamics of the changing seasons and the interplay between darkness and light are fundamental. This cycle is an expression of deeper truths, and by making a conscious choice to be active participants in the natural ebb and flow of the year, pagans can find harmony with things on all levels: natural, personal, and the divine.
Community rituals are open to the whole pagan and pagan friendly community to celebrate the seasons. They will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in New Braunfels or at Copernicus Community Center in San Antonio.
RSVP's are necessary to make sure that the leaders of the rituals have enough supplies to go around.
After ritual we feast!!!
Please bring food, snacks, and/or drinks to share (potluck style) . There will be water bottles, juice, plates, and cups already on site.
For a description of the seasons we celebrate please go to Wheel of The Year.

Lughnassah, Lammas which is the first harvest. The early crops are being brought in and stored for winter while the abundance of nature is all around. The corn stands high in the fields and the days are warm and luxurious. Lammas is the time of sharing the first harvest and breads that are made from the early grains. It is a time of thankfulness to the God and Goddess for their help in the creation of a full harvest for the winter that lies ahead.
The Sun King sacrifices himself to give bounty to the earth as seen in the harvest. Grain would be cooked and brewed as beer, while some of the honey and fruit would be brewed into Mead and cider. It is the time of the Mother, the waiting, and the changing.
