Community Yule!!!

When: Dec. 14th. 2012
Where: New Braunfels, Texas

Community Yule!!! Pagan Family Winter Wonderland!!!

Event Details: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT RITUAL WILL START promptly at 7:30PM, this is so there will be plenty of time afterward for feasting and kids to get their picture taken on the Holly Kings lap (Santa) .

7PM IS THE EARLIEST ANYONE CAN ARRIVE!

This year Community Yule will be a Winter Wonderland... Pagan style!!! ;)

The Holly King (Father Christmas) will be there decked in all his finery for the kids (and big kids) to sit on his lap for pictures, to tell him their wish, and the little kids (0-15) will receive a gift. THIS WILL TAKE PLACE AFTER RITUAL.

I will have a camera on site for those who forget or do not have a camera. Afterwards I will email them to you or if need be print them out and mail them. Standard 4x6 photos.

Ritual will be celebrated by welcoming back the light and everyone will be given a peace of the light we create, the "light of hope" to take home.

After Ritual, while kids get to sit on the Holly King's lap and get a gift, there will be a Holiday feast (Potluck style) so please come hungry and BRING A DISH TO SHARE.

RSVP's will be necessary to make sure that the leaders of the ritual will have enough supplies to go around and kids will have the chance for gifts.

LAST MINUTE PLANNERS ARE STILL WELCOME, as we do plan for a few extra, but if you have kids please try and give advance notice for I would like each child to go away with something.

This is FREE event and very family/kid freindly all we ask if for a love donation of $5 and if you can only give less, give less, if you can give more, please give more.

For followers of nature-based spiritual paths the dynamics of the changing seasons and the interplay between darkness and light are fundamental. This cycle is an expression of deeper truths, and by making a conscious choice to be active participants in the natural ebb and flow of the year, pagans can find harmony with things on all levels: natural, personal, and the divine.

Community rituals are open to the whole pagan and pagan friendly community to celebrate the seasons.

Yule, Winter Solstice, Longest Night, ...

At Yule the celebration is in honor of the Sun being reborn as it starts to warm the Earth and drive the Winter from the land. This is the shortest day of the year and the longest night. From this day forward the sun again begins to grow in strength and rise to new heights each day. It is a time of celebration and gift giving.

In the early days the Lord of the hunt, or the Horned God of the hunt, was most important for survival in Winter since hunting was the means of survival practiced. The Horned God is in no way to be confused with the devil. Wicca does not consider the Devil to be an entity but believes that all good and evil are contained in each individual and it is up to that individual to be as good or as bad as they deem. MAN is man, both good and bad.
