English Harvest Ritual
When: Nov. 15th. 2009
Where: Arlingtion, Virginia
Join us for a traditional English Harvest Ritual
Event Details: English parishes, even today, continue the tradition of presenting a token of the harvest, blessing it and then offering food and money to the poor. In reclaiming this tradition, we will honor the Celtic goddess of the harvest, Grainne, and ask blessing on our personal harvests. Participants are asked to bring a token from their garden or, alternatively, some other symbol of their personal 'harvest' for the year. All monetary proceeds from this ritual will go to the Northern Virginia food bank 'Food For Others'. We will celebrate the harvest 1:00PM at the Church, with a potluck harvest afterward!
