Central Puget Sound Pagan Pride announces...

Pagan Pride Day

When: Oct. 5th. 2013
Where: Tacoma, Washington

Pagan Pride Day

Event Details: Central Puget Sound Pagan Pride Day 2013 will be held on Saturday October 5th at Freighthouse Square from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. People of all ages and spiritual backgrounds are welcome at this free event. The event will include information booths, vendors, entertainment, religious ceremonies, and other activities celebrating the Autumn Equinox- a time of thanksgiving in many Pagan traditions. Non-perishable food items will be collected and donated to charity.
Central Puget Sound Pagan Pride Day is a local event affiliated with The Pagan Pride Project, a non-profit global organization dedicated to the elimination of prejudice and religious discrimination through education, activism, charity, and community. Annual Pagan Pride celebrations are held in the fall months, and this year there are hundreds of scheduled events across the United States, Canada, and abroad. Pagans are found in all walks of life from professionals to homemakers.By providing accurate information, and by showing communities that their own neighbors and co-workers practice these religions, they hope to lessen prejudice against them.
The food drive gives participants a way to share with those who are less fortunate while making a positive statement about Paganism. For decades Pagans have been wrongly accused of practicing devil-worship and performing "black magic." In reality most Pagans enjoy a religion emphasizing respect for nature, humanity, and oneself. Modern Paganism, or Neo-Paganism, is a growing religious movement based on combinations of ancient polytheism, modern eco-spirituality, and reverence for the Divine as both masculine and feminine. Some common traditions found under this umbrella include Wicca or Witchcraft, Asatru, and Druidry.
Food donations will be given to the Northwest Harvest in Seattle, WA. Central Puget Sound Pagan Pride Day sponsors this event at Freighthouse Square, 2501 East D. St, Tacoma, WA. For more information about the event or about Pagan religions, call Angela Wehnert at 253-572-8339 or email president@cpsppd.org.
