Public Samhain Ritual
Event Details: Come join us as we cel\ebrate Samhain in the tradition of Olde. Arrive at 4:30 pm, Orientation at 4:45 pm, Ritual at 5 pm. Event ends at 8 pm
Witches of Olde did not hold public services. To bring in a new member was an ultimate display of perfect love and perfect trust. Many covens would wear masks in the presence of potential new members and would only allow themselves to be called by their magical names. The true names and faces of coven members would not be revealed until and unless the prospective member was deemed worthy of such trust.
For our celebration, all attendees will be given masks and magical name tags as they enter. You will be asked to not reveal your true face and name until told to do so. You may also bring a memento for our ancestor altar, if you desire to do so, Please bring a potluck dish to share, as well as some cash. We request donations for our cauldron of prosperity, and will also have items for sale at our fundraiser table, as well as a raffle.
Note: You may wear costumes with our without your own mask. If your costume does not have a mask, you will be given one to wear with it. If you choose to wear your own mask, keep in mind that your mask must be comfortable enough to wear for 1 to 3 hours, leave your airway free for breathing and your mouth free for talking and eating.
