Witchy Weekend Update Samhain Ritual

Event Details: Our solemn Samhain ritual will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation on Sunday, October 28, 2012. We will start gathering at 6:30, with a brief description of the ritual, and begin the actual ritual about 7:00. This ritual is open to the public. Children who are old enough to appreciate the solemnity of the ritual and who will not pose a distraction for other participants are welcome. The ritual will involve a priestess aspecting the Crone in the person of Hecate, and will conclude with a Dumb Feast with the beloved departed. We will honor the ancestors and plan for the winter ahead. You are welcome to bring pictures or small mementos of your beloved dead for the altar, and there will be a special altar for departed companion animals.
Following the ritual, we will have a potluck feast, so bring food or drink to share if you are able. We always have plenty, so if you can't bring food, bring yourself anyway. We also collect donations of non-perishible food for the Covenant House food pantry at every ritual. Especially since this is the last of the Harvest Sabbats, donations of food to those who cannot afford food serves to remind us to be grateful for all our abundance.
We look forward to seeing old friends and welcoming new ones at this most sacred time of year.
Blessed Be.
