Group Overview: Founded in 1988, The Circle of Ashtoreth is the founding coven of the Castillian Tradition. We are an initiatory, oath-bound, mystery tradition with it's roots in British Traditional Witchcraft. A group of mixed gender, the C of A hosts "semi-public" events for each of the Great Sabbats, and makes classes in the Tradition's practices available to serious seekers. Our approach emphasises a balance between male and female energies, and uses a scripted approach to ritual working that reflects our commitment to tradition and community. Our sabbats are potluck events, with the feasting, merry-making and spirited conversation that often lasts well into the night.
Although wine and mead are usually a part of our celebration, we prefer a more sober approach to the Mysteries, and discourage the "party animal" approach to celebration. No drugs are permitted, and people who arrive under their influence will be asked to leave.
Minors are welcome, but they must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
