Group Overview: The Winnipeg Full Moon Group has been meeting monthly to celebrate the full moon since April of 2005, and we have decided to formally dedicate ourselves to the Goddess and the God as a permanent working group. The purpose of the Full Moon Group is largely one of training and teaching -- to provide new practitioners of Wicca with a place to practice the techniques of ritual in a group setting; however, we are open to practitioners at all levels of experience. Our focus is on the esbats rather than the sabbats, although from time to time we might choose to celebrate a holy day from the solar as well as the lunar calendar.
The group is facilitated by Laurie Smith, who has been practicing Wicca for 16 years and has been privileged to experience Gardnerian outer court training; she is also an initiate in the Black Ring Line of Alberta. She is assisted by three other experienced Priestesses with a total of 30+ years of experience.
