Coven na Callaighe
A WitchVox Sponsor

Age Range/Type: Adult
Located in: Kells, Ireland
Key Contact: Gavin Bone

Spiritual Path: progressive/shamanistic
Status: Established Group
Community Support: Teaching Available

Group Overview: Coven Na Callaighe is named after the nearby Sacred Sites at Lough Crew, which includes Slieve Na Callaighe or Hill of the Veiled One.
It is a progressive Wiccan coven which uses Shamanism, psychism and Spirituality as its basis of practise rather than the Alexandrian or Gardnerian traditions (although these are also taught as comparisons) . Members are taught ritual but the emphasis is on personal connection with deity and spirit forms. Apart from the obvious wicca training (e.g. Spellcraft/Magical Practise, Wheel of the Year, Triple Goddess/Dual God etc.) it also includes:
Spiritual Cosmology and travelling
The use of energy in ritual (Chakras and Aura levels)
The nature of, and connection with, personal deity
Mediumship and trance techniques
The development of Psychic skills
Initiation is considered to be a spiritual rather than ritual process (If you want more information on this system of training read our new book Progressive Witchcraft)
We do not actively seek members. Becoming a member of the coven is a lengthy process and not for those who are not willing to dedicate themselves completely to divinity and the process of learning - we turn away more than we take on - and it may take several years before being accepted as a member. Coven standards are high and we do not take beginners, only those with at least a basic understanding of what witchcraft and paganism is.
