Group Overview: THE TEMPLE OF THE OLD WAYS undertakes its work through an Outer Court study group and an inner initiates-only Coven and we offer possible training and initiation into Wicca and the Magical Arts to sincere and proper persons.
LOCATIONS: While being based in Auckland we have trusted Gardnerian & Alexandrian contacts and associates (elders, past students and initiates) throughout the world. If we can help seekers connect to genuine teachers then we will attempt to do so.
THE COVEN is a lineaged initiatory group practicing and teaching the mysteries of "British Traditional Wicca". Our coven works strongly with the Alexandrian Tradition of the Craft, and this formulates much of our work and the basis of our training.
OUR APPROACH: While we honour the Old Ways and respect tradition, we do not remain stagnant, but explore the practical and experiential aspects of magic within our ceremonies and our lives - with a special emphasis placed on connecting to energies of the land in which we live (Aotearoa) . The modes of training and ritual that you can expect if accepted for initiation will include both Gardnerian, and Alexandrian Wicca with some influence from Sussex traditional Witchcraft.
A WICCAN OUTER COURT TRAINING GROUP meets monthly on Wednesday nights for classes or for individual training and supervision. The Coven meet monthly for full moon esbats, and 8 times a year for the Sabbats. The Sabbats or seasonal rituals are restricted to Neophytes who have completed a dedication ceremony and a certain period of training. Full moon rites are restricted to initiated (Gardnerian or Alexandrian) witches only.
APPLICATIONS: The coven may consider applications for new members. There is a selection process and membership is not a right, but a privilege and a commitment that entails hard work, commitment and sincerity. We are however open to assisting seekers and referring or advising them if we are able.
