Group Overview: Monthly moots last Wednesday of the month
Workshops second Monday of each month
Celebrations with ritual for all the Sabbats
Esbats thirteen times a year - just check out the full moon dates.
Additional dates on an ad hoc basis for talks of interest.

Now in its eighth year, a group of us got together in the summer of 2002, starting with pub moots. We meet at a private club in central Staines (ring for directions or email) and we meet on the last Wednesday of each month and out in the open at local spiritual sites at Sabbats. An eclectic bunch we are all heading in the same direction - just taking slightly different paths to get there but happy to share each other's for the company!

Ours is probably one of the fastest growing groups in the country, due possibly to our relaxed attitude and sense of fun. We have more than 60 members, most of them linked to our own Yahoo! group. We take our beliefs seriously but not ourselves. Members currently come from all over Middlesex, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Nottingham, Bedfordshire and all parts of London and our moots often welcome visiting groups and circles. Our Sabbat rituals often have overseas visitors who are on holiday in the UK at the festival time. The most popular Sabbats in the past have had 70+ in attendance and on occasions we find we have to limit numbers.

Ages and knowledge range right across the board (no under 18s) so everyone is welcome to join in as long as they enjoy being with like minded people. You really don't have to be outgoing or particularly gregarious, we have our share of quiet folk too but we make everyone feel at home. We also have our own egroup where we can communicate with each other and share information. We have a book share scheme with around one hundred books available to borrow at no charge. This is particularly useful to beginners. Click on our website (details below) for a rough overview of who we are - don't worry, it doesn't lead you onto a commercial site where we will try to sell you something. We are Pagans, not Pagan suppliers.

For the past two years we have had our own named incense. It is imported from the States and is made only from pure plant oils, spices and resins. None of that chemical smell alike stuff. It was made especially for us and we trialled a few recipes before we agree this special fragrance, reminiscent of the forest and the ancient Pagan site where we meet. Each pack is labelled The Circle of Ankerwycke Incense and is available only to our members at cost price.

Our Inner Circle meets monthly and you can find it on this site as the Inner Wheel of Ankerwycke. Primarily a teaching group for those who want to do more than talk the talk. Other than give lists of correspondences and crystals, we pay most attention to pathworking using the magic within. Three of our group are highly trained in trance work so we offer an excellent opportunity for those wishing to perfect and practice their spellworking. This group meets in Central Staines .

We have also introduced monthly Esbat rituals for the more experienced Pagans. This is limited to those who have worked with us for at least 12 months and by personal invitation.

Despite the ever growing size of the group, we are not attached to any commercial organisation. We have no fees for any of our activities and we won't try to sell you anything either. If you want a wand, we will show you how to make one. We don't believe that traditional witchcraft should cost money so we do not dictate what you wear, either robes or High Street fashion - it is your choice.. We think you are all grown up enough to decide what you want to wear and want you to be comfortable.

We have introduced talks at some of our moots and we have some of the most fascinating rituals around, often with renowned guests adding brevity (!) to our evenings. We have no hierarchy and all members are considered equal in every way. We have no 'She Who Must be Obeyed'.

This is no rudderless ship though........ it is steered by it's very experienced founders.
