Group Overview: (Updated: 24th March 2015)

Hearth and Home: The Newark Pagan Community is a community of Pagans from the picturesque town of Newark on Trent (Nottinghamshire) .

Starting out as a small moot in association with the Nottingham Pagan Network, the ''Newark Moot'' soon grew faster than anyone expected! The group quickly organised itself through the wonders of Facebook and managed to establish itself as THE place to be for Newark Pagans. Now autonomous from the Nottingham Pagan Network (but still friends) , Hearth and Home has members - fondly referred to as mooties - currently attending an official monthly moot from far and wide! We're a mixed bunch, a weird family of people from different backgrounds and beliefs who look to each other for support, guidance, and a giggle in the pub!

We have a range of different activities going on. Our main event "The moot" is held monthly for local (or visiting) Pagans. It's held every 3rd Sunday of the Month at 7:00pm in one of the oldest pubs in Newark - The White Hart. As well as the potential to make good friends, and have good drinks, the pub boasts ghosts a plenty with their haunted cellar tours and kindly donate their function room to us for the evening. Ask the staff to point you in our direction if it's your first visit.

Fancy something a little more directed and structured? You're welcome to attend the Study Group held just two hours before the moot at 5:00pm in the same location. Started (and ran) by one of our members, the study group is open to anyone who wishes to look more into paganism in a more concentrated group. Swapping idea's, talking about different beliefs, the group will choose a topic for study each month and bring their research to the next meeting. Studies have been going for over two years now but it's never to late to join in! So far (thanks to expert volunteer lead) the study group has been a huge success and we look forward to the continued discussions.

We also have picnics, cinema trips, day trips, cafe meet up's, seasonal celebrations - You name it, we've got it. Our members are deeply proud of the community we've built up over the years, and everyone is welcome with open arms.
