Tucson Area Wiccan/Pagan Network (TAWN)
Age Range/Type: Family
Located in: Tucson, Arizona
Key Contact: Any Board member
Spiritual Path: Eclectic Network
Status: Established Group
Community Support: Open Circles... Legal Clergy... Teaching Available

Group Overview: Since 1988, TAWN has been southeastern Arizona's hub of Neo-Pagan, Heathen, and Polytheist communication and education. Understanding and good will among local Pagans/Heathens and between the Pagan/Heathen community and the general public is our goal. We've worked for over two decades to build and maintain a spiritual, educational, and social network based on a reverence for Nature and respect for each other.
We meet on the second Sunday of the month (the third Sunday in May, in deference to Mother's Day) at 11 a.m. under the ramada in La Madera Park (a block north of Glenn between Tucson and Country Club) . The usually-short business meeting is followed by feasting and fellowship -- check our website for each month's food theme!
Our annual Spring and Fall Festivals showcase various aspects of Wicca, Druidry, Ásatrú and other polytheist faiths. Our Festival days feature workshops, vendors, entertainment, food, info booths, and more, and close with open Ostara and Mabon rituals. We celebrate the other six Sabbats with open rituals hosted by various member groups.
Another centerpiece of our education program is an on-going series of open-to-the-public classes exploring a wide range of Neo-Pagan, Heathen, and Polytheist paths, skills, and interests. When there are enough children between the ages of four and thirteen, a monthly Moon School is in session, too.
Our quarterly newsletter, "Tapestry, " publishes summaries of Cauldronluck Minutes, meeting and festival schedules, and contact information, along with movie, book, and other reviews, a church-and-state update, crafts and recipes, poetry, art, articles, humor, and anything else our readers submit. (Subscriptions are $15/four issues.) Our e-mail forums are another way for members to stay in touch and share information.
TAWN has worked hard to make and keep Tucson a safe place to be "out of the broom closet, " and we take pride in the accomplishment. We hope you'll join us at our second-Sunday Cauldronlucks, check our website (www.TAWN.org) or e-mail our Board for more information (tawnbod@TAWN.org) .
