The Temple of St. Brigid's Moon

Age Range/Type: Family
Located in: Fresno, California
Key Contact: Fox, Doc or River

Spiritual Path: Eclectic / Celtic Woodland
Status: Established Group
Community Support: Legal Clergy... Teaching Available

Group Overview: [TSBM is a restricted Coven but we do accept new people. You need only apply. We are dry and drug-free. We are an Adult AND Family group - associate and full members range from 13 (a member's child) to 65 with the average age of 34!]

We are an eclectic, hierarchical and initiatory Coven and we are a teaching [and healing] Coven. We are also the oldest continuously active Coven in Fresno. Our tradition is Celtic Woodland which combines Celtic, Green and parts of Gardnarian/Alexandrian traditions with Kitchen Witchery and some aspects of Druidic beliefs. Our patron Goddess is Brigid or St. Brigid [of Kildare] and our patron God is the Green Man. Besides teaching, our biggest function is to the community in the form of the Pagan Pride Day Event [and soon, a new Pagan event!] We have retired from the Wiccan Prison Project which we developed at CDCR request and it continues at the Central California Women's Facility, near Chowchilla, with 40 active inmates.

Coven Membership is NOT required for *student training*, though there will be exposure through all Degrees. Potential new students / members are well screened for suitability before acceptance is granted. While we would love to grant the requests of the many nice, sincere people who have approached us, it is just not possible due to a number of reasons (additions, mental state, antisocial personality, etc.) . When we do accept those who are considered compatible they must be at least 18 years old (16 with notarized, written parental permission or 13 if parents are Coven members) . They must be of sound mind, of reasoable health and free of substance dependancies. Orientation, disability or gender are never a limitation.

In regards to new initiates beyond First Degree or an equivalent, Coven membership is generally required. We do not normally actively recruit new members. It is up to the seeker who walks the Path to find us and request membership as well as initiation. We are very happy with our current family but will consider and assist all seekers. We will usually meet with and get to know a potential member socially for a time before deciding if we feel they would be a good match for our Coven. Decisions are made by the Coven Council (Elders and Leading Clergy) and are final.

When someone does not "feel right" for membership in our Coven, we will attempt to direct them to other Covens or study groups if possible. Please feel free to contact us by e-mail or arrange a meeting with us in a public place for coffee and conversation.

While we do not offer 'Open Circles' officially, we will allow sincere individuals to join us at ritual, if we feel it is right to do so.

*CAUTION*: In contacting people for training, please be smart about how you do so and follow what your instincts tell you. This includes even contacting us!!

Blessings.
