Coven of Midnight's Flame

Age Range/Type: Adult
Located in: Los Angeles/North Hollywood, CA, California
Key Contact: Aislin Lumina

Spiritual Path: Twilight Tradition Wicca
Status: Established Group
Community Support: Open Circles... Teaching Available

Group Overview: Coven of Midnight’s Flame (CMF) is a coven of women practicing the Twilight Tradition of Wicca in North Hollywood. We are traditional and hierarchal, but also somewhat eclectic in that we don't worship gods and goddesses from solely one pantheon alone. The Twilight Tradition was founded in 2004, and Coven of Midnight’s Flame hived from it’s sister coven, Twilight Spiral Coven (located in Northern Orange County) , in 2012 to better serve the areas of Los Angeles, Hollywood, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, San Fernando Valley, and other surrounding areas. CMF accepts female members ages 21 and older.

For more information on us, check out our Facebook page or our website. Our site explains bylaws, structure and how to join, while our FB page will give you more information on our day-to-day activities.

We practice love, laughter and the quest for knowledge in our group. You'll find that we are hierarchal and focused, but we also know how to have a good time. A few of our primary goals are: education, not just of our coven sisters, but also of both the Pagan and Mundane communities, and furthering the bond of our sisterhood, as a coven family.

Covens in the Twilight Tradition are made up of two courts, an inner court of initiates and an outer court made up of dedicants. We also have a more congregational group called Shadow Sisters, for those who are not able to or do not desire the commitment of dedication and initiation into our coven. Shadow Sisters are invited to all monthly coven meetings as well as many sabbats. We use a degree system within our initiated coven family, offering training up to the 3rd degree.

Much of the communication about events is online. Currently, we use a Facebook group (it's 'secret' so no one can search and anything you post will be private) . Having computer access is crucial to becoming a member in our group.

Our dedicants attend a "Twilight Wicca 101" course, Sabbat celebrations, and a monthly meeting. So, the commitment isn't terribly time-consuming- around 2 weeknight evening classes per month for several months until the class is completed (2 hours or so) , one Sunday night meeting every month, and one Sabbat celebration, usually on a Sunday evening every other month. We also invited members to join our congregational group called Shadow Sisters, for those who do not wish to dedicate, but would still like to attend rituals and meetings.

If you are interested in joining us, we ask that you be a mature female 21 and older, live in the Los Angeles area, be willing to make some kind of a commitment to our group, and have some knowledge of Wiccan beliefs, values and traditions- we usually recommend at least 6 months independent study time. Petitions are always accepted.

We also have recently started a more social pagan group called Los Angeles Pagan Alliance (LAPA) . This group may be of interest to those who are looking to meet like-minded pagans in the area, but are not interested in joining a coven. LAPA is open to both men and women as well.

If you would like to learn more about LAPA, please see below:

The Los Angeles Pagan Alliance (LAPA) is a group created to serve the pagan community of the Los Angeles area. Based on the Boston Pagan Alliance (which one LAPA moderator was in for many years) , the Los Angeles Pagan Alliance is designed to be a group with an online community as well as regular in-person meetings at least once a month. Members may join and participate in the online portion of this group only or may choose to come to our in-person meetings as well. It is totally up to the member to decide their level of participation.

This group is open to all men and women 21 and over who consider themselves pagan or pagan-friendly.
