Group Overview: Hey everyone, my name is Rebecca. I have recently returned to the area after residing in NYC for 12 years and wanted to start an informal group of local practitioners of the magickal arts. I consider myself a witch and not a Wiccan. I do follow some Wiccan principles, but also incorportate some other religious teachings. I have lead various groups before and am also open to teaching newcomers.
Books and websites do hold alot of valuable information and we can learn alot of valuable things from them, but they cannot teach us everything. Witchcraft as I understand it doesn't need to be big and elaborate and formal. Some occasions do call for some formality, but not all. I do not call myself "Lady___" or "High Priestess___". I am only a woman with a natural inclination toward the magickal. I do abide by a code of ethics, but my magickal ethics are a little more flexible if the situation calls for it (no hate mail please) . I have alot of success with rituals involving alot of Greco-Roman-Egyptian deities, as well as a few Middle Eastern deities. I have built long-standing relationships with Dionysus, Diana, Aradia, Hecate, Isis, Set, Sophia, and Litlith, and tend to work mostly with these deities with great success. I do a majority of my workings in english, but do transcribe some rituals into classical latin or greek or italian.
I also enjoy spirit work and am always down for a good seance or Ouija session with like-minded and responsible people. I welcome all ages and races and sexual orientations/gender identities. I have some space for a small group to meet, but we can also meet out in nature as well.
If you're interested in forming a small group with me, let me know. Please no "by the book" Wiccans, wannabes, rebellious teenagers trying to piss off mommy and daddy. This group is only for mature and responsible people that are willing to work some real magick instead of just talking about it. Depending on the situation, no spell is off limits.
