Coven of the BlackStone Mare

Group Overview: The Coven of the BlackStone Mare is a newly formed coven in the Clan of the sacred Flame. We practice Traditional European/American Witchcraft. We are not a "Wiccan" group by BTW standards, we proudly call ourselves witches. This means that we live the witches life style everyday in everything that we do. We run a family style coven, our coven leaders are often called coven mothers and coven fathers. These coven leaders are those in charge of students, teaching clan material, teaching ritual and keeping their coven on track.
Students in our covens learn the mystical arts that have been practiced by witches through out history. We place heavy emphasis on magick, spell work, rituals, mythology, psychic ability and intuition. We teach each student a set format that all clan members learn, however as a living, breathing tradition we are open to change and intuitive rituals.
Our coven celebrates all of the eight witches Sabbats and we gather for all Full Moon ceremonies. We may also gather for other ceremonies such as the waxing, waning or dark moon. Classes are taught by the coven elders. These lessons present clan material that all members must learn in order to recieve initiation.
All covens in the Clan of the sacred Flame (CSF) make use of the Celtic pantheon, with a Patron or Matron who watches over and guides the coven. Each coven also has a totem animal that is chosen upon the groups creation. This totem is a sacred spirit that represents the group mentally and spiritually. We are currently interested in taking on students who are serious about witchcraft, who would like to become part of a larger family and who have some natural talents towards witchery.
