Group Overview: Town Center Borderpagans.
Who are we? --------------- I could answer this by saying that we are pagans, heathens, reconstructionists, qabalists, ceremonialists, and eclectics. More accurately I will say that we are dreamers, believers, followers, leaders. We have a thirst for knowledge, for fellowship, for seeing that bright glint in the eyes of someone who finally 'gets it' and understands some new bit of esoterica. We are, above all, humans.
What do we do? ------------------- We talk, we cry, we joke, we laugh. We also teach and learn, talk and listen. We grow and nurture those not yet ready for growth.
Why do we do it? -------------------- Because we can. Because we chose to be in this place, at this time to learn and grow and help others to do the same.
Where do we do it? ---------------------- We meet in the coffee shop in the Borders book store in Kennesaw, GA. You'll recognize us because we're the ones who rearrange their furniture every week. (we put it back before we leave, usually) .
When do we do it? ---------------------- We meet every Monday night from 8pm until they close at 10pm. We then adjourn to the local Appleby's till around Midnight or so.
How do we do it? -------------------- The topics covered are of every level and variety. The First monday of every month is reserved for introductory or beginner's topics. The discussion assumes no prior knowledge on behalf of the participants and is intended to give a good foundation in a topic so they'll at least know what questions to ask to pursue the topic further.
The Third monday of every month is reserved for advanced or deep topics. These topics do not necessarily require an in depth knowlege to attend, but there is an assumption of at least a foundation level knowledge of the topic. We jump in the deep end on these nights and no topic is off limits. Past topics on these nights have ranged from 'Politics of Paganism' to 'Sacrifice' to 'Explorations of the Qabalah'
Other nights are a grab bag of topics and levels. Watch this group for announcements of topics and feel free to suggest topics you want to hear and especially ones you can lead.
