Group Overview: This is a group about Community. We're trying to build community in the area, which is not easy to do in an area with such a high population turn over, like near a college. But we won't let that stop us.
We think people new to the craft need someplace to go where they can be safe to ask any questions they want to a number of people all of whom have different answer, a figure out what is right for his or her self.
We think people who are old hands at this need someplace to go where they can talk to others who are old hands and help shape the new generations, to keep us all going strong.
We think that pagan parents should have someplace to go where they can bring the kids, and the kids can learn something too. Or at least be somewhat entertained with activities while parents talk to other adults. (we're still working on this one, please be patient with us)
We think pagans in relationships should see that you can raise your children pagan, and they turn out fine... well as fine as us pagans can be!
We think that we need to laugh with other people who just get it. And that ending a ritual with "thank you come again" can be the funniest thing in the world if it's not happening to you!
We think that there should be someplace safe where you can just be pagan, in all it's many forms.
We think that community occasionally means open rituals, that we don't have to attend if we don't feel like it.
We think that community means education, of ourselves and those around us, and not just or only at, meetings.
We think we don't know everything, and we will at times make mistakes, and that's what makes us human.
We think that respect is paramount to successful friendships, group meetings and life in general.
We think that a code of conduct helps, but that it's up to each of us to check our attitudes at the door, to come in with an open mind and to agree to disagree respectfully and politely.
We think that there is no "Us Against the World". There is just us in and of the world. Which makes for a much better time.
We think that coming to these meetings can be fun, enlightening, sometimes boring, but mostly interesting, And that it's up to each member to find what they need because we can't do it for them.
We think that it is the responsibility of every member to make each meeting the best that he or she can. That open communication is key to the success of the group. So please feel free to talk to the organizer if your needs aren't being meet, or if you have ideas for improvement.
We think that being pagan is not an excuse to be rude, obnoxious, insulting, freaky, creepy or any other negative label you can find. Life is excuse enough don't blame the religion.
We think that each of us in our own way has the ability to do great things, and that with love and support we can each achieve our dreams.
Apparently we think a lot of things! And we're always thinking. Come join us and start thinking up your own things to add to this list.
Ask questions, and get to know the community that is lucky enough to be here right now.. transient or life long residents, everyone is welcome!
