Group Overview: Temple of the Sacred Well is a newly forming eclectic Wiccan group taking shape around a model that emphasizes fellowship and growth in the Craft rather than interpersonal dramas and the egos of “ordained clergy.” This is a group for those who have spent enough time on their path to know why they are there and how to create things in their life.
Prospective members should be at least 29 years old, have the emotional maturity to be able to work with others in a respectful and nurturing environment and some experience working in coven/circle settings. This tradition recognizes that magick is about mastery of oneself and service to creation, not currying favor from a high priest or priestess who spoon-feed ritual and bits of “Wicca 101” knowledge to “their” covenors.
It also requires the cooperation of people who have a certain amount of self-discipline and humility, and the desire to help each other grow. This is a coven for people who are serious about their craft, but don’t take themselves too seriously. Our schedule will initially be limited to Full Moons and festivals. We will also have opportunities for outings to pagan community socials, workshops or whatever else captures members’ interest.
This is a group that values compatibility and long-term close working relationships over size, and once we get a solid core of people, new members will be taken on a limited basis with natural turnover. This won’t be a group with a permanent listing trolling for more people to add to a membership roll. If you’re tired of the games and middle-school politics of “traditional” groups but you miss the power of circle working, come see what we’re about.
