Many Paths CUUPs

Age Range/Type: Adult
Located in: Bloomington, Illinois
Key Contact: Kelsey Neustel

Spiritual Path: Reclaiming/Earth-based
Status: Established Group
Community Support: Open Circles... Legal Clergy... Teaching Available

Group Overview: Many Paths CUUPs (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans) is based in Bloomington, IL as part of the local Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington-Normal (UUBN) . We currently practice the Reclaiming Tradition of Witchcraft, and continue to be organized by those primarily from within the Reclaiming community. We are truly a consensus-based group, open to all of good intent.

Many Paths CUUPS re-grouped in 2011 after a 3 year hiatus. Our new group has started fresh, with former and new members, new ideas, and renewed spirit in December of 2011. Many Paths CUUPS is building upon the foundation of the former group with many of the former members’ experiences and input to guide the way, but has some definite changes. Our new Mission Statement reads: “The purpose of Many Paths CUUPS is to educate and demystify Earth-based Spiritual Traditions by holding public rituals throughout the year that are open to all those of good intent. We offer a safe and non-threatening place for people to gather to form connections and community.”

We celebrate the 8 Pagan Festivals of the Turning of the Wheel throughout the year, and our rituals are always open to the public as well as local covens of other Traditions, and Solitary Practitioners. You do not have to be Pagan, Unitarian Universalist, or even a member of Many Paths CUUPS to attend our rituals, classes, and events. An open mind, respect for our traditions, and a desire to learn are all that we ask of you.

All are welcome to attend our Rituals, including children old enough to participate respectfully in Circle. Minors MUST be accompanied by an adult. Free babysitting is also available through a licensed childcare agency with advance notice. As is usual in Reclaiming groups, we are always drug and alcohol-free.

We currently offer an ongoing Study Circle for those who wish to learn more intensively about the Craft, meeting at the UU Church in Bloomington, at 1613 E. Emerson St. every first and third Sunday of each month, from 1:00-3:00PM. Our next meeting is April 29th, and we will be discussing the last 3 chapters of Starhawk's book, The Spiral Dance. New members are welcome.

If you've ever had an interest in Magick, Mysticism, & the Mysteries of the Craft of Wicca & other Pagan traditions, come join us & be welcome!
