Group Overview: The Witches of Westwood are a group of civic minded, politically and socially aware adult Witches, Wiccans and Pagans. We're an eclectic group with a vastly eclectic pantheon. We have roots in Norse, some of the Gardenarian, much of the Egyptian, much of the Greek, a bit of the Roman, and much of the Babylonian traditions. We are influenced by the Tuathŕ de Danaan too.
We accept only serious minded adults as potential coveners. In order for someone to join us, they must complete individual or group study sessions. While participating in these sessions, they are welcome to attend certain esbats and sabbats throughout the year. After they complete this process, they can choose to stay involved with the coven in a limited fashion as a covener, or they can continue their studies in order to move up the the next level of initiation. After completing this level of initiation, the Witch has the option to study to be a Priest or Priestess.
We are a rather exclusive group of friends and sister (and brother) witches. We work with several sister covens in the Chicagoland area. We are a physical group, through we have sites on meetup.com and on Facebook as well as a Facebook group. We meet physically and via Skype and teach classes both physically and via Skype.
We are dedicated, knowledgable, and we practice both ceremonial (high) and real/non-ceremonial (low) magic/magick. We would be happy to meet with anyone interested in joining usl. We're a well mixed group of all ages, sexes, races, and natural abilities. We are a group of true friends, real family.
