Group Overview: My name is Denni of "River Moon Rising", a Gardnerian coven down from the Louisville Line, which itself is down from the Long Island Line of Gardnerians. I am a third degree in this line, and teach both alone and in cooperation with members of my parent coven.
I'm currently accepting new students, and am looking for places to run open Wicca 101 classes, in addition to working through the 101 materials at coven meetings, as the beginning of a new student's education. The content of the 101 is the foundation of our common language, and sharing it with you as part of your training helps to build our common understanding.
I am always looking for like-minded individuals to discuss and practice with. Holidays are very important to me, and group discretion is a very high priority. If you're looking for information on our Tradition, the articles on Wikipedia are a great place to start, but don't let your research end there!
Because of the time and commitment involved in going through the training, some BTW groups can be a little standoffish, at first - don't be deterred! The nature of the Tradition and the process of training in it encourages a familial bond, and involves a serious energy investment, on our part, so we find it beneficial for everyone to try to 'weed out' individuals joining on impulse, who may not be well-suited to the lengthy process of traditional study. We are available to answer sincere questions from anyone, whether a student, seeker, or just an interested party.
For those seeking - age is not an issue with me, but restrictions present in Missouri and Illinois state laws prevent me from accepting students younger than 18. There is no effective maximum age, and I encourage students of all ages to come and learn together - it's never too late to spend time working on yourself and your personal path.
