Group Overview: This is a new coven for witches that follow Celtic traditions and The Wiccan Rede. The foundation for this coven is to bring witches of Celtic ancestry together to keep our Pagan heritage alive. Although or Gods and Goddesses are many, our major influence is our Lady Day, the great Goddess Brigid. Her name means "exalted one" and she is the Goddess of poets, bards, healers, and magicians. She is also the Goddess of fire (the forge and the hearth) healing, childbirth, and unity, is celebrated in many European countries. She is known by many names, including that of Saint Brigid who is, perhaps, the most powerful religious figure in Irish history. She is the inspiration for this coven. Our magic is rooted strongly in the four elements:earth, air, fire, and water. We believe in the earth's uses in magic and it's ability to heal. We study plants and herbal medicine as well. We see magic as a part of every day life. I refer to the goddess as one entity ( The Great White Moon Goddess) and the God (as one entity, as the Great Horned God. This is a familiar concept in Wicca. Brigid is seen as The Triple Goddess because of her and her sisters who are also Goddesses and because Brigid is so complex. Although I believe in the structure of ritual, I believe that spell work is very personal and should be personalized to meet every individuals needs. Our policies are as follows:1.All witches will be treated equally and that NO ONE will be discriminated due to race, sexual orientation, gender, or age. Although this group is Celtic in traditions, Celts come in many variations for they were scattered all throughout the British Isles and northern Spain to as far east as Transylvania, the Black Sea coasts, and Galatia in Anatolia and were in part absorbed into the Roman Empire as Britons, Gauls, Boii, Galatians, and Celtiberians.
That is a lot of ground to cover! No one is alike. I want all ages to feel welcome. Minors are welcome as long as I have their parents consent and the parent is present or has given me a written consent. 2: I want to discourage any flirting in the coven. I see it as a distraction and don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable, so in other words, this is not a place to date. If you want to bring a significant other or a spouse that is fine, but don't harass the members. Anyone suspected of sexual harassment will not be allowed back to the coven. 3: I ask that everyone come to the coven with an open heart and open mind. Respect others and treat them as you would like to be treated. 4: And last of all remember "An ye harm none, do what ye will".
