Group Overview: We are bringing witchcraft back.
The original and ongoing purpose of the Celtic Spirits Coven is to teach others how to be a historically accurate witch.
Our motto... “If you wish to call yourself a witch, then please understand historical fact first."
The motto then helps us see what is our original intent, and to form a business model for that purpose. Historical information is the key ingredient. Gone away are the New-Age books and ideas. We do not invent a religion, we simply find what is the historical record.
Familiar Spirits, casting magic in your daily life, circumventing the mind-control techniques of of the Christian church, attending black mass, commanding spirits, “making pacts with the devil” --- these are some of the most universal attributes of the beliefs of witches through Europe according to their testimonials and trial records.
In comprehension of this subject, we can think what life would have been like for that poor illiterate peasant farmer from the countryside who was accused of witchcraft – did she know anything about Chakras, Egyptian Goddesses, Greek/Roman mythology, the blessed union of the masculine and feminism, the three fold law, reincarnation, Karma? Of course not. These ideas are from other cultures from far away that she would not have had knowledge of. Not one single accused witch ever discussed these things in their testimonials or court records.
Paganism is not witchcraft --- no matter how much the new-agers say it is.
In fact, What the poor peasant farmer from the countryside knew was that Christian soldiers came to her village, set up a church, converted the elite, and made everyone go to their church. Through the generations she saw anyone who practiced the old ways of her village die out over time while generation after generation was brought up in the Christian culture. She saw the hypocrisy of the church, the mind-control techniques they employed, their fake rules of morality. She no longer wanted to be ruled by their mind-control. She wanted to be free to live her life as she saw fit. Not be be a bad person, but to be free from oppression.
With this mental picture, we can therefore delve into ourselves, to come to the conclusion to the life choice of deciding if we want to become a witch, or if we'd rather remain the christian we've always been.
We teach the truth to those people who's eyes ache to be opened. Most students take several years, as there is very much inappropriate knowledge to unlearn before one can learn their selves. This is a self-paced type of study, and will require very much reading and discussion along with personal one-on-one mentoring. There is no time-line, it is all a matter of a student showing progress. Due to the complexity and power of witchcraft and sorcery, a prospective student should have a mature way about their self, be one who enjoys studying, be willing to learn, and are ready to find the answers they seek as a witch. You will need time for personal mentoring meetings with Connor, so you should have the ability to meet in person, or by phone as often as you need with a quiet place available.
High Witch Connor MacKenzie will meet one-on-one or on the phone, usually in the evenings and weekends for quiet times of discussion and personal mentoring. There is no fee associated with the school. Contact Connor MacKenzie to schedule an in person initial interview. Interviews will take place in a public place.
1. Is this pagan/new-age?
A: No. Paganism is not witchcraft.
2. Everyone seems to think their version of witchcraft is the true version. Why is your school "the correct one"?
A: Think of it this way: If you wanted to graduate college with a degree in history, would your syllabus cause you to go to the fiction section of the library? We aren't perusing the new-age section, we are studying actual history.
3. Do you follow the 3 fold law?
A: No. If you follow the 3 fold law, you are a Christian.
4. What is your patron God or Goddess?
A: Swapping one imaginary god for another is not witchcraft. Witchcraft knows no gods. Practicing magic, Interacting and commanding spirits is in direct conflict with any religion that has a god/goddess.
5. Why does it take at least a year before initiation?
A. Most of everyone grew up in a christian type of culture, in one form or another. Learning how to become a witch includes breaking through moral barriers that the culture has firmly set in people's hearts. People process through their barriers at their own special unique pace. The School helps you to understand how to be more interactive with the spirit realm. Becoming a witch is a highly private matter, which takes time.
6. What will I study to become a witch?
A. We review the historical record and then move on to further magic and sorcery studies and practices. You will learn about the mind-frame of the accused witch, what their culture was like at the time, you will learn how magical ideas formed, and you will learn how to include magic in your daily life - being a witch isn't a religion, it is a way of life. There will be a lot of reading, a lot of talking, a lot of practice, and probably a lot of mentoring. You will notice a lot of changes within yourself as you progress.
7. The devil is a christian belief that has nothing to do with Paganism. Why do you claim otherwise?
A. Witches who rebelled against the Christian church viewed the devil as an ally, and is an integral part of how they were demonized. Pagans died out long ago, who's beliefs were lost in time. Please don't confuse new-age Pagan with Witches.
