Group Overview: The Coven of the Moonlit Path is an eclectic, degree oriented Pagan group in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. We formed in May of 2006. The purpose of our group is to nurture our spirituality, to learn, to grow together, to work as a family, and to teach others who are willing to learn about the Old Ways. We hope to be able to teach those who are seeking knowledge about the Craft. We also hope to teach everyone to love one another, and to be able to network and share with others of a like mind.
Being eclectic, we have the ability to use many different ritual elements, depending on what is appropriate for the individual working. We have the ability to use a Celtic prayer or a Native American cleansing ceremony, just to experience different ways of working. This gives us the ability to adapt to almost anyone present in the circle.
We are a teaching coven, which means that we not only accept group members, but also those who are just seeking to take classes without being a full coven member. We offer a Wicca 101 course for those who wish to learn some of the basics of Wicca. Also, we have numerous other classes taught by our coven on such things as Tarot, candle magick, stone healing, etc. For our coven members, we offer a degree program to be completed in about four years, allowing a year and a day between each different level. This program leads to ordination as a High Priestess or High Priest.
We offer Men's and Women's Circles, both of which are open to everyone and free. These circles are based off of the same circles put on by Spirit of the Earth Church Inc. out of Hopkinsville, KY. In these circles, we will focus on awakening ourselves to the inner God and Goddess within, self healing, self improvement, spellwork, and ritual. We also offer Open New Moon, Full Moon and Sabbat Circles to anyone of an open mind who would like to attend. These events are also free, as are all of our circles. We do a variety of different things every circle. Since we are a teaching coven, our students and members get the opportunity to lead circle at various times. This provides everyone with a good learning experience and an opportunity to see how others do their rituals.
We are currently accepting applications for both members and for students. Our group meets for the Full Moons, New Moons and Sabbats on the closest Saturday or Sunday to the event. We work clothed, and children are permitted in our circle.
