Group Overview: Welcome to Bayou Oaks Grove! We're a bunch of quirky tree huggers who observe the Eightfold Wheel of the Year. We also enjoy getting together in between those Gatherings as well. We recognize many gods and goddesses from a wide variety of pantheons. We feel that the natural world, including all her places, objects and creatures - possess a distinct, living, spiritual essence. We also acknowledge the existence of countless other spirits that can be found in the three sacred realms of the Earth, Skies, and Waters. In other words, we see deities and various spirits in everyone and everything. If you're a religious scholar and thinking that we sound like a bunch of polytheistic animists... you've pretty much got our number. 🙂 Honoring our Blessed Ancestors of blood and spiritual heritage through offerings and memorials is incredibly important to us - and we start every Gathering by doing just that. Druids have no holy books or messiahs; we don’t believe in one single supreme being, nor do we have a figure that embodies absolute good or ultimate evil. In fact, we feel that the deities and spirits we commune with are similar to us in regards to their attitudes, morality, and behaviour. Another important note is that we count ourselves among the deific pantheons - and an acknowledgement of that takes place at every Gathering.

Our Grove is mostly left wing / liberal / progressive in politics. As you might can guess, environmental conservation is an extremely important issue to us. Many of our members follow other traditions in addition to Druidry and may have individual beliefs that slightly differ from each other or what is listed above. In this sense, we serve as a type of "umbrella organization". We are vigorously inclusive of all ethnicities, races, genders, and orientations. This is reflected in our Grove leadership as well. Our Gatherings take place at a private home with full amenities and are kid friendly. We think of each other as family and take the physical, spiritual, and emotional safety of our members and visitors seriously. All of our Gatherings are catered, and there is an $8 catering charge per person. Bring that, a camp chair, and an open mind! We do maintain a group page on FB, but it is a closed page used mostly for scheduling Gatherings and is open only to initiated members. Please call or email, and we'll be happy to share more about ourselves and the next time we're getting together. Until then, we look forward to seeing you around our fire. May the Earth Mother and the Blessed Ancestors guide you!

NOTE: For those of you passingly familiar with Druidry already, please know that we do not claim any sort of direct historical lineage from the ancient Druids. Although some of our beliefs and practices may be similar to the ancient Celts, we are not Celtic Reconstructionists, and pride ourselves on the uniqueness and originality of our traditions.
