Group Overview: The Order of The Unified Circle was established over the years as different solitary practitioners felt the need to solidify their own understanding and involvement in the faith. As different members slowly came together for rituals and holidays, it was agreed upon to establish some form of a social network loosely based of traditional understandings of American Wicca. The first coven formed (only as a crude holiday coven) during the fall of 2001. During the first few years, the coven was nameless and at times only had three to six members attending the regular holidays. The group grew larger and began to meet to discuss the role of faith and magic in the modern world, as well as, meet for the major holidays. By the year 2006, DuFresne and Choate (last remaining members of the original holiday pack) began to notice a new tradition had formed. DuFresne, came from an unnamed tradition tought by family members. He brought a deeper understanding of the elemental power. Together with Choate, formed a new connection to the Divine.
We aim for a personal connection and an understanding of Divine
We believe in the power of magic, and use both traditional and modern techniques to achieve our goals
Our ethical guide is the Wiccan Rede: "An it harm none, do what ye will."
We believe that all actions and decisions originate from the individual person and that individual must take full responsibility of their lives.
Our teachings focus on the development of a personal relationship with Deity, and a keen awareness and attunement with the cycles of Nature through ritual and in our daily lives
Wicca makes claims to be “spiritually descended” from the old world faiths, but we understand that mordern day Wiccan has NO historical resemblance to any Traditional European religions.
We believe in two aspects, God and Goddess, of the All which is the driving force behind life
Coven Structure/Standards of Conduct
The hierarchy consists of three grades known as degree. It is not possible to "self-Initiate" into the tradition, but rather one must demonstrate a certain level of achieved mastery. We believe in free will for our each of our members. No one can dictate another and personal lives is always held seprate. Children are welcome when parents are pressent (either members themselves or have personaly met with coven leaders) but may be excluded from meetings or rituals at any time parents or coven leaders wish to do so. Non-initiates are allowed to meet with covens when the circle is considered "open", if not, no one may attend with out previous knowledge and permission by coven leaders. We have an obligation to maintain the privacy of others who are initiates. We do not charge money initiating and/or teaching our religion. We do not discriminate against race, sex, or sexual orientation.
