Circle of Wondrous Stories
Age Range/Type: Adult
Located in: Detroit Metropolitan area, Michigan
Key Contact: Oberon Osiris
Spiritual Path: Eclectic Wiccan
Status: Established Group
Community Support: Legal Clergy...

Group Overview: We, the Circle of Wondrous Stories formed on the Blue Moon of 1991 and still retain half of our original membership. As individuals, we've been part of the Detroit scene since it began, in the Fall of 1987. We have been involved with most of the area's umbrella Pagan organizations, newsletters, and other events or activities since that time including: Dream Grove of the Sacred Moon, Great Lakes Pagan Council, CUUPS Detroit, Web* K.O.R.E, the Magic Wand Newsletter, Crow's Cause Newsletter, The Federation of Circles and Solitaires, Chalice in the Woods, Paradise Pines gatherings, and more.
We are credentialed legal Ministers in Michigan through our long assocation with Covenant of the Goddess (CoG) . Currently our main outreach activities are through the Midwest Region Local Council of the Covenant of the Goddess (MRLC) , along with covens and solitaries from Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. We invite serious, adult-minded Witch or Wiccan covens and solitaries to meet us and network, or possibly consider joing CoG and the MRLC.
From 1992 through 2003, we hosted an annual Beltane ritual and celebration at Paradise Pines, possibly the oldest annual Beltane in the state. We've presented large rituals at Convocation; one of the highlights was the incredible honor of presenting a memorial ritual for Tempest Smith at Convocation in 2003.
Currently our Circle is preparing, to help the MRLC produce Grand Council and Merry Meet 2010, for CoG. This will be in one of our midwest states. We are looking at fundraising events such as public rituals like our Beltane or our signature "Hecate Night" celebration as well as other activities to help seed and promote Merry Meet 2010.
