Group Overview: Keepers of the Hearth - "Hearth Tradition"
"Home is where the hearth and heart is."
It is more than just a house or dwelling. A home or hearth is the central location where families gather on a daily basis to discuss family matters, to celebrate events in life, a place to feel protected and loved. It is also a place where we can face our fears and problems. Through the hearth and the family unit, our children gain an understanding of love, trust, hope, compassion, understanding & happiness, as well as learning to overcome fears and learning right from wrong.
The Keepers of the Hearth believes in the power of the family unit. We celebrate all versions of families that are created under the Lord and Lady. We do not discriminate on any basis.
Together parents come together as equal partners in the leadership role of the family unit. This leadership role is not specifically limited to just a mother and father. Some families just have mothers or fathers. It can be a single parent, multiple parent units (resulting from divorce) and even same-sex parental units. They begin with the bonds of unconditional love, marriage and/or handfasting of their commitment to one another. We believe that everyone has within them the power and knowledge of a High Priest or High Priestess, especially when it comes to their family and working as a coven (what we call a Hearth) .
Our family is the greatest magic that we can weave. The oldest of Traditions out there are the non-publicized ones that were created in the family themselves. Hidden behind closed doors for centuries. We want to create that magic within our own bloodlines to carry on to future generations of our Tree of Life.
The "Hearth Tradition" was created by two sisters, Annette and Crystal (also known in circles as Autumn and Luna) . It is their hopes of creating their family tradition that is carried down to future generations of their bloodline and by those friends considered their magical family as well.
The Hearth Tradition focuses on the celebration of a Pagan family unit. It is what most will consider an Eclectic Tradition as well. Who and what we worship is up to each family, though we are more influenced on the aspects of the Gods and Goddesses that have to deal with family, home, and marriage.
Deity: The Hearth Tradition honors deity that focuses on the areas of home, marriage and family.
We currently honor (but surely are not limited to) :
Egyptian: Isis, Osiris, Bast, Anubis, Horus Greek/Roman: Hestia, Pales, Zeus, Hera, Hermes, Aphrodite, Pan, Fauna, Artemis Eastern: Budda, Kwan Yin
