Group Overview: Who We Are and What We Do
The Traverse City Area Wiccan Circle, operating primarily out of Traverse City, Michigan and its outlying communities, a diverse group as nature itself, is comprised of practitioners of positive Earth-based religions, such as Wicca, Shamanism, Heathenry, and Druidry. The Circle’s mission is that of providing a sacred and safe environment in which members can connect with the Divine through Nature Spirituality. Its purpose is also that of helping those who wish to utilize the Magickal Prayer (Witchcraft) aspects of our religion in order to create positive change within themselves and the world around them. Although we are open to all forms of Paganism and expanding our knowledge about other traditions, the Traverse City Area Wiccan Circle uses the Wiccan ritual format.

Where and When We Meet
The Wheel Of The Year:
The Goddess and the God are as diverse as the members comprising TC Area Wiccan Circle. We honor the many and varied names and faces of the Goddess and the God. Sabbat Celebrations take place at the private residences of our members, or within a neutral meeting place. Our members volunteer to host Sabbat Celebrations and are responsible for writing the Sabbat ceremonies they host. During the fair-weather months we hold our celebrations outdoors, and in the winter and during inclement weather, we hold the celebration indoors. Fellowship and a potluck dinner usually follow a Sabbat ritual circle. Ritual garb and tools are encouraged, but not required. Some of the group members like to dress-up for the holidays, and dress can vary form “church-like: attire to full ritual dress. There are also social events and outings available to those wishing to participate.

The Wheel of Life:
Some group members are Certified Ministerial Counselors, Ordained Ministers and members of the Priesthood. Rituals such as Baby Blessings, Coming-Of-Age rituals, Handfasting ceremonies, Hand-Partings and Summerland Ceremonies are available. (Please keep in mind that our Ordained Clergy have various schedules and personal lives so please understand that not all requests will necessarily be met. Please contact us sooner rather than later when needing a member of Clergy so we may find someone that fits with your schedule. Thank you.)

Spiritual Education:
Bi-monthly classes geared towards spiritual growth and enlightenment are taught by members in Traverse City. Usually one member of the group acts as “presenter”, having volunteered ahead of time to tackle the subject matter at hand. The other group members are encouraged to read-up on the subject matter prior to discussion, and add what information they have found during their studies. Please note that a minister’s license cannot be attained through this group. It is not a coven and does not offer “degrees” or other hierarchal designations.

Spiritual Healing:
Members voluntarily participate in healing spells, ritual and Drum Circles for the betterment of their fellow group members, the community or the world at large.

How To Get In Touch With Us
We accept open-minded people of varying traditions and different levels of spiritual knowledge. We do not discriminate against anyone according to age (although newcomers must be at least 18 years of age or have parental/legal guardian permission to participate) , gender, sexual preference, race, color or ethnicity. The circle is open to all serious seekers willing to embrace the group’s mission and operating guidelines. Personal information about group members is confidential. We do our best to respect each member's privacy and to protect the identity of our group members.
