Are you curious about Druidry? Are you drawn to the path or already walk the path of Druidry? Have you thought about joining and becoming a member/student of the Order of Bards, Ovates, & Druids? Are you already a member/student of the OBOD? Are you a member of another Druidic group? Would you like to get to know other like-minded druids? Then Welcome to the “Grove!”
Here we would like to create a Sacred Grove and close family who are dedicated to the path and life of being a Bard, Ovate, and/or Druid, which most people find is a different mindset of modern Wicca or mainstream Paganism. As you may already know, we belong to the Mother Grove from Sussex, England, so our philosophies, theologies, and practices are the same. A "Seed Group" by its very core is a study group of OBOD members but we hope to have group activities such as planting tree groves, tending to the environment and environmental issues, camp-outs, workshops, and gatherings. Our group meets in person and real-time on a regular basis for Sabbats, study, to have fun, and so forth. In the Druidic path these get-togethers are called Gorsedds. “A Gorsedd is an open Drudic ritual gathering. All are invited, no matter what tradition, to gather together at a sacred site to celebrate the turning of the season with ceremony, rites of passage, and open Eisteddfodau (Bardic performances) . So bring flowers of the season, story, song and musical instruments. All the family is usually welcome. All that is asked is that you come with an open mind, and an open heart.” During inclement weather, we hold these Gorsedds at our (Neal and Jennifer Cox) home/apartment so we wish to meet and greet anyone at a public place prior to the date if someone would like to attend! An OBOD Seed Group is first and foremost a study group, which can and often takes on the activities of a coven or grove where individuals celebrate the Wheel of the Year (the 8 Sabbats and the Lunar celebration rites) . The OBOD encourages individual, group, and environmental growth by individual and group studies, activities, and gatherings of all venues.
