Sapona Study Circle

Age Range/Type: Adult
Located in: Fayetteville/Fort Bragg, North Carolina
Key Contact: Scribe

Spiritual Path: Pagan
Status: Group Forming
Community Support: Open Circles...

Group Overview: Hail and Welcome!

The Sapona Study Circle is a pagan study group open to those living in the greater Cape Fear area. We are currently forming a study group for those interested in multicultural approach to paganism, with the hope of birthing a working circle in the near future.

*Our Beliefs:

We honor many paths and believe that there are common themes throughout many religions. Our belief foundations come from:
- Asatru
- Taoism
- Hearthcraft or "Kitchen Witchery"
- Traditional Wicca
- Brujeria/Santeria
- Neopaganism

Although we walk many paths, we strive to follow a higher code of conduct. These codes, such as The Wiccan Rede, The Noble Virtues of Asatru, or the Bushido, are not just ideals, but ways of living.

Furthermore, as a circle, we embrace the following:

- Study: Learning about not only our beliefs, but about ourselves, each other and the world around us
- Fellowship: A pagan community is built one cup of tea (or coffee!) at a time
- Egalitarianism: The Divine in masculine and feminine form are both equally valued and our ritual leadership roles are shared
- Seasonal attunement: Celebrating the lunar and solar holidays and aligning ourselves with the environment around us

*Our Community:

We are open to pagans in living in the Cape Fear area, including Cumberland County, Harnett County, Fort Bragg all points in between.

We welcome both military and non-military pagans as well as families.

*About the name Sapona:

Sapona was the original name given to the Cape Fear River by the Esaw Native Americans who lived near its headwaters.
