Group Overview: Fayetteville Pagan Scholarship
After spending close to 10 years in the pagan community, studying and reaching out for fellowship, it is with a great sense of happiness that I look to begin a pagan study group in the Fayetteville area. This group is not a meet and greet, but more a way for pagans of various paths to share information, discuss pertinent topics within the pagan community, and gain an appreciation for Reconstructionists ideals in an environment conducive to learning and exploration.
F.P.S is was started with the idea of fellowship in the form of;
1.Bi-Weekly discussion of pantheons and deities, with each member doing their own research on their own time and sharing it with the group. 2.The exploration of various types of ritual, magic, and libation 3.Meditation and Inner psychic work 4.Discussion of social issues within the pagan community 5.Read, review, and compare books together (a sort of Pagan book club) 6.To have a good time.
While Wiccans are welcome to learn and share, this is NOT a Wiccan group and I look to steer the group away from Wiccan ritual. There are already groups for Wiccans available in the Fayetteville area. If you are interested in studying Kemeticism, learning about Hellenismos or Religio-Romana, studying First Nation mythologies or discussing Asatru and sharing your knowledge, THIS is the group for you. Anthropology, history, philosophy, mythology, and sociology buffs are more then welcome.
I'd like to get a good 4 or 5 people interested and then we can discuss our first meeting details. If you're looking for a beyond 101 and a non-fluffy bunny, non-politically correct free approach to paganism, this may be the group for you.
