Group Overview: Hello! This group is for anyone with a serious interest in shamanic journeying and shamanic witchcraft. Based on the concept of Core Shamanism developed by Michael Harner, blending the commonalities of many shamanic practices from around the world, as well as elements from paganism, neopaganism, Buddhism, Wicca, and "whatever moves and grooves ya." Most of our time spent in circle will be casting circle, drumming and rattling, calling our spirit guides, animal, plant, and rock spirit dancing, singing, chanting, sun/moon/earth and seasonal rites, and most of all individual shamanic journeying. These are not guided meditations and are not led. In this group the individual has responsibility for themselves, as well as responsibilities to the group such as volunteering to lead ritual for a night (when one feels ready, with the help of others if needed) , contributing to the space, sharing in the task of drumming for journeys, and so forth. Occasionally we will do things like group journeys (where we all journey to the Otherworlds with the same intention) , healings, partner journeys, and spellworkings.
I recently moved to Asheville and would love to help a beautiful group form around these self-healing practices. I helped start a group like this a few years ago where I lived and it was a wonderful experience. Please e-mail me if you are interested, I am excited to hear from you!
