Group Overview: WiseMoon is an eclectic group of family oriented pagans. We come from a wide variety of backgrounds and traditions from Wiccan to Native American to Unitarian Universalist, among others. We have a small group of initiated members in the coven and all others are friends who participate in open circles with us, or invited guests. When the coven began in the year 2000, it was with the intent that children, the most sacred among us, would be honored and welcomed at ritual. In fact, everyone with good intent would be welcomed at ritual. In order to ensure the safety of our members and to protect the integrity of our group, there is a screening process should someone unknown to us wish to attend ritual. Once invited, the Council of Elders must all be in agreement should one wish to continue participation with the coven. Our bylaws permit small growth of two new members per year however, we hold 2 to 3 open circles per year where anyone with pure intent can attend. Please check schedule of events on this site for listed open circles.
I need to stress that WiseMoon is family oriented. Women children and men are all invited to attend as long as intention is pure. If you would have difficulty with the laughter and noise that is a part of a child friendly group, then we are not appropriate for you. Rituals are life affirming, empowering and earth honoring. We honor traditional wiccan sabbats and esbats but our rituals are colored by the beautiful gifts the paths of our members and guests create. We are less concerned with the technicalities that can be pervasive in other circles but place emphasis on the support of our members and the gentle teaching and guidance of newer ones to the craft, whatever their chosen path may be. There are formal and informal mentoring processes within the group. Informal mentoring is participation in the group under the guidance of the members while doing private study. The formal mentoring process is a year of study under the guidance of the High Priestess or a Coven of Elder member and includes 13 private sessions, one per month, with a mentor and includes information on the Craft as well as guidance on your personal path and experience with energy, spirit guides and the planning of a ritual at the end of your year of study. There is a fee for the mentor's time which is $333 and covers 13 sessions over the course of your year. Sessions run approximately 2 hours.
If you are interested in attending ritual or have additional questions, you may send an email. Blessed Be, Wolfwalker.
