Circle/Study Group
Age Range/Type: Adult
Located in: Bloomfield, New Jersey
Key Contact: Thiemba (Thee-em-ba)
Spiritual Path: Eclectic
Status: Group Forming
Community Support: Open Circles... Legal Clergy... Teaching Available

Group Overview: I've walked a solitary path and been a teacher of Hoodoo for most of my life and I've recently come to realize that it's time to open my personal circle and be a part of something larger.
It's time to start a circle with eclectic practitioners like you!
Please note that I am a Capricorn and known in my social circles for following through with what I start. I believe in respecting all paths and believe that when the right people come together that they can create something wonderful.
A circle is about strengthening ones spiritual path and strengthening the bonds of community.
Interested?
Please send me an email but before you do I'd like to share a little about myself, my practice, and a little bit of it's history.
Enjoy! I can't wait to hear from you.
I'm a practicing Rootworker and have been taught in the Louisiana style from my late Grandmother, Aunts, and Father.
A little bit about Hoodoo:
The hoodoo tradition places emphasis on personal magical power and thus it lacks strong links to any specific form of theology and can be adapted to any one of several forms of outward religious worship. Although an individual practitioner may take on students, hoodoo is not an obviously hierarchical system. Teachings and rituals are handed down from a one practitioner to another, but there are no priests or priestesses and no division between initiates and laity.
Hoodoo is an informal system of folkloric practice, largely based on African beliefs, though it draws significantly from Native American folklore, especially in its use of herbs and other botanical ingredients.
