Group Overview: The Temple of Ara's spiritual tradition is based on the central principle of immanent divinity. Our practices are intended to help us all discover the Divine that dwells within as well as all around us, and to rejoice in the ecstasy of that communion. We believe the Mysteries are hiding in plain sight, and so the Temple’s purpose is to help people take off the blindfold so they can see the world is sacred, and that the entire world is part of the web of life.
The Temple of Ara, a non profit religious corporation under New York State Law, is an innovative, progressive, and non-dogmatic spiritual congregation dedicated to practicing and teaching an accessible system of ancient and modern spiritual practices that enable individuals to personally experience the Divine within themselves, in others, and in the world. Because it is the embodiment of the Divine, we view Nature as our greatest spiritual teacher, and so we seek to live in harmony with the wisdom inherent in the natural cycles of the Earth. Although we frequently refer to the Divine as Goddess and/or God, as shown by the variety in Nature we recognize that the Divine is not just feminine or masculine, but beyond gender.
