Group Overview: Black Hat Society is a group specifically for women over 40 who follow a magical path, be it as a Witch, Wiccan, magical pagan, "earth mystic, " or heathen. In other words, we don't care what path you follow, just as long as you do practice magic (as we talk a lot about magic!) .
We meet monthly for a group discussion, and we also try to schedule one casual meeting a month as well. Our casual meetings have included meeting for wine at Vintage, performing ritual together, going on a shamanic journey in the park, etc. The casual meetings are for members only; the regular monthly meetings are open to newcomers.
The purpose of the group is for support and friendship, as most of the members follow a solitary path. We discuss problems we've had with spellwork, we come together periodically to celebrate the turning of the Wheel, and in general just enjoy each other's company.
We welcome newcomers, as long as they are women and age 40 or over...think of this as The Red Hat Society turned black...and without the need to identify ourselves with gaily-colored clothing!
Monthly meetings are normally at Borders' Cafe on S. Virginia, the first Monday of the month (unless that Monday falls on a holiday) at 6:30 p.m. There is usually a topic scheduled, however we are quite loose about it, and often times end up sharing other things as well.
