Group Overview: Created on Beltane 2003, the Coven of the Avalon Moon is located in the Delaware county area of the Catskill Mountains in NY.
The coven's practices are an eclectic blend borrowing from Wiccan and Pagan traditions from around the world including Celtic, Teutonic, Egyptian, Greek, Native American and others.
We honor the Natural world; the Divine as male and female as equals and complimentary to each other; and that the Divine is within all things, including ourselves. Because of this all Coven members are seen in the same light – as equals – requiring no need for titles, degree systems or ranks.
Ceremonies, functions and festivities are created and evolve to suit our needs, with members sharing and rotating responsibilities as desired.
Members believe a person’s spiritual journey is as unique as the individual and encourage continued positive spiritual growth. Honesty, love, respect, tolerance, wisdom, creativity, transformation through evolutionary thought process and having fun are essential to us. We are dedicated to helping, healing, learning and educating with light and love in our hearts. Members also support non-profit organizations and charitable causes such as The Witches' Voice and Community Cauldron.
Private gatherings are held weekly (including Dark Moons & Full Moons) for study, discussion and magickal workings, with some Full Moon gatherings open to guests through an invitation from a coven member.
To ensure the fluidity of our Coven, new membership is not taken lightly. Potential members must be approved by coven members after a prolonged period of evaluation through in-person meetings.
