Group Overview: Witches Of Lore by which we became New York State registered as an indigenous faith on 9/6/1996 - and also known as "Witches Of The Shadow Tradition" maintains a lineage which has existed in one form or another going back four generations.
The Shadow Tradition is uniquely classified a "funerary tradition" of magick as it deals exclusively with supernatural and spiritual elements. Something of which is not for everyone and is not meant for those with fragile constitutions. This is also not a system of magick which will ever be found published by Llewellyn but where examples of it's influence in the life of it's present reigning Lord and High Priest may be further explored through http://beyond-known.com and http://beyond-dead.com .
The Shadow Tradition is not about necromancy nor does it contain any necromantic elements such as grave dirt or grave desecration.
It doesn't need to. But it does require a level of sacrifice and intense discipline in order that one so inclined may maintain a level of balance within themselves and that of their ever expanding conscious environment.
The Shadow Tradition maintains two phases of development.
The first deals only with the niceties and natural inclination found in almost every earth based Goddess tradition complete with a well experienced and motherly nurturing High Priestess who represents the Witches Of Lore.
The second deals with that aspect known as "Samhain Speak" or "Sowan Speak" which enters that phase of advance "funerary magick" of which comes with it's own unique system of advanced logic and principles of expression as instructed by it's High Priest and hereditary instructor.
