Group Overview: The Coven of the Crow is a healing and teaching coven, dedicated to honoring God and Goddess. The Circle was established in 2005 by Lady Awen and Lord Teiwaz, ordained clergy of the faith and certified Reiki masters - both with the combined experience of over thirty years of Witchcraft. Lady Awen and Lord Teiwaz perform handfastings, marriages, wiccanings, reiki, and various other services relating to the Craft of the Wise. The coven stead and Tradition, Willow Hill, is located in Herkimer, NY. Willow Hill Circle recognizes lunar and solar cycles as Esbats and Sabbats, occasionally holding open circle for invited members.
The Coven has a 3-tier degree system. The Initiate, the Adept, and the Third Degree. It is the decision of the Initiate whether or not to continue their studies to earn their certification as minister. By third degree, the High Priest/ High Priestess may decide to hive off and form their own Coven within the Willow Hill Circle Tradition.
Although all witches will have their own individual paths, the Coven of the Crow upholds their fates to be bound to one an other as a chosen family of witches. Though our personalities may differ, we gather to honor the sacred names of the Gods with like mind and like spirit, in perfect love and perfect trust. Through this, we teach the mysteries of the Priesthood, and the rites performed to our Gods.
Willow Hill Grove is the outer circle that meets usually once a month for drumming, open rituals, and celebrations of all kinds. Some members that attend Willow Hill Grove are offered a probationary period as Seeker to determine whether they choose to dedicate as a member of the Coven. After the traditional year and a day of study, the Dedicant, if ready, then initiates and is welcomed as witch and Priest/ess in the Coven and Tradition.
Our tradition upholds the Law of Threefold, and does not see it as Karma, an eastern tradition that dictates what occurs after your death, but as a balancing force in nature. Every positive will have a negative, every action a reaction. This is the way of nature, and the nature of our way. Likewise, we understand that if we accept these consequences, it is sometimes necessary to be the protector in personal situations. With that said we do not believe in ever harming an innocent.
