Group Overview: Established May 10th 2017, the Coven of the 5 Points is an active working coven that is about the “actual” practice witchcraft. What this means is, we are about using magick to improve the lives of our members and the surrounding environment vs being “only” a place to socialize and stoke our egos. We do not discriminate. We accept both young and old, new to the craft and experienced—we ask only one thing, that you are serious about practicing magick and have a critical mind. All of our members practice meditation, visualization, energy work, and studies that takes up 30 minutes to an hour of their lives. This is done 4 to 6 days out of the week in the privacy of their own home by choice. Because we spend so much time and dedication to the Craft, we assume and expect you the seeker to be willing and able to do the same. Without such dedication our coven magick would be ineffective and meaningless.

In addition to “actually” studying and practicing magick, we are also concerned about the maturity level, balance of morals, courage, intellectual honesty, level of ego, and mental state of possible members, so out of a spirit of fairness, I will tell you what will get you rejected. First, you must be over the age of 18, and be emotionally mature. Simply put, we don't have time for child-like mentalities. As for morality, we are a coven based on a balance , in other words, we don't believe morality is cut and dry, therefore, we do what is right at the time, according to the situation. Having said this, we are about taking action, and are not afraid to confront darkness, so if you lack the courage to do that, then this is not the place for you. Another thing that will get you overlooked, is not having a critical mind, meaning, if you lack the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality, then you won't make it-I am taking about those people who think they have special powers they really don't. If someone claims that sort of thing, those claims get tested. You need to have a critical mind. Also, if your ego is SO huge, it hinders your ability to work with others, or causes you to want to become the coven dictator, then you are out-we don't adhere to titles and we operate as a collective of equals. As for mental state, we understand that people have problems, however, performing magick requires you to be in control of your mental faculties. This means you must have a good grasp on reality and be willing to transform both your life here in the physical world, as well as evolve spiritually. What I am talking about here are people that come with a sh*t storm of problems; such problems being the result of the choices which they are unwilling to to change along with the an inability to recognize those problems. A member of this coven, must be willing to examine their life, face their problems and change for the better. If you are comfortable with your problems, then sorry, no progress can be made at this time and you cannot proceed. Unfortunately such people are usually not aware they fall into this category—if they were, would they have those problems in the first place? If any of this seems harsh, I’m sorry, but it would be irresponsible of us to teach those who are simply not ready.

Because of this, we hold you to the traditional “year and a day, ” which simply means, if we decide to take you on as a student, you are under our supervision for a period of a year and one day. During this period, we watch to see if any of those undesired traits manifest, and if they do, we ask you to go in peace. If that is something you cannot agree to, then we cannot teach you. If you survive a year and a day, then you will either be approached and asked to join or be required to spend a little more time shoring up any lack of knowledge or circumstances that may be effecting your ability to practice within the coven. It may sound harsh, but it is necessary. It is also worthy to note, unlike traditional covens, we do not hold any ranks or titles; we believe such things encourage overblown egos, and that respect should only be given when it is deserved. Past the year and a day period, we see you as a family member, therefore, we openly share all our knowledge freely and without any filters, and we are proud to say that it is that bond that makes us so effective.

An important thing to realize about this coven is that we are about action, and are only interested in using what works. For this reason, we study and test everything we practice, to see if it can actually produce what it claims. If it doesn't, we don't use it, and if it does we keep it. Not only this, be we also incorporate science, technology, psychology and illusion (magic vs magick) into our studies and practices. It is for this reason, we have no problem taking scared knowledge, rituals and spells and shredding them--nothing is so sacred that it should be accepted without first examining and testing it. If you just accept what you've read or been told, you often times end of practicing things of no value and wast your time--and sense our time here on Earth is so short, we had better use it constructively.

At this point, you may be asking where do we stand morally. Are we Black Witches or White Witches? Neither. We represent the middle path, meaning, we believe that the true path to ascension is a winding one that leads from light into shadow and back. We hold that true understanding comes from the knowledge that magick is neutral force that can be used for good or ill, and therefore, we choose to use this force to not only improve our lives, but to enhance the world in a positive way. We believe, one can become just as insane by exposing themselves to too much divine light, as they would if they were to totally embrace darkness and become a black Magickian. True evil is the result the imbalance or extremes. We use magick to protect the innocent, and to mindfully build reality as we see fit. At the same time, we have no desire to make pacts with vile spirits, although we may chose to subdue or destroy one.

Having said all this, I must give warning to those of you who wish to become a member. If you are afraid of things that go bump in the night because you fear that you might be sucked into the abyss, then this is probably not the coven for you. We are looking for brave folk. If you join us, you will most likely be confronted by these things and will at some point have to step into the shadows to deal with these dark forces.

A Word of Advice to those Searching for a Coven/Teacher

There are three types of people who study magick; those looking for spiritual enlightenment, those wanting to learn how to cast spells to change aspects of their life they don't like and those who are looking for a little bit of both. In either case, all people are trying to find truth. Any spiritual system that fails to delver results is vapid and meaningless, so when we search for a group to join, we expect the leadership (those people who hold the titles like High Priest or High Priestess, ) to be experts at what they do, and be able teach you things that will improve your life. Unfortunately, ninety-percent of the covens out there have nothing of real value to offer, other than maybe a social network, and sense of happiness. But, in the end, having a warm fuzzy feeling will never really solves your problems.

The process of trying to find an effective spiritual system can be a daunting task when those system include religious hierarchies and empty claims. Often times, the acquirent will be told that he or she must progress through different "grades" in order to develop their skills and uncover the real truth, when what is really happening, is the people at the top are just using you to stroke their own egos and for their own selfish reasons. They delay the acquisition of this knowledge, because, number one they have nothing worthy to offer in the first place, and number two, if they revealed that, they would loose their most important commodity--you!

So having said that, I will now say this; I cannot claim to be a Sorcerer Supreme, nor am I an Arch-Magi--if I claimed that I would be dishonest. In my over 30 years of practicing magick, just like everyone else, I have had both successes and failures. Most importantly, I have committed to being honest with myself and those I work with, and because of that, I am willing to incorporate all spheres of knowledge in hopes of building a system that works. There are things I can teach you, and of course there are things you can teach me as well. If you decide to join us, this is what you should expect.

I know this level of honesty disturbs most people, because most of you are still hanging on the hope that there IS someone out their that can teach them the magick words that will solve all their problems. But I am here to tell you friend, that is not going to happen--not using the standard system of magick most people are familiar with today, and definitely not by mixing it with religion. Science, psychology and medicine arose from mystical beliefs. The reason why they are so effective today is because their practitioners were honest enough test and experiment, then drop any silly beliefs that were proven wrong.

What were the witches of the past, besides men and woman who were familiar with the fundamental laws of nature and knew how to use them. Most commoners were either too stupid or too lazy to understand that these magickians were just using science, technology, medicine, psychology and even trickery to produce results. A witch, sorcerer or shaman will always have a more advanced knowledge of esoteric concepts than the average monkey--so advanced in fact that the results could be construed as magical. So don't get caught up trying to figure out how to become a Harry Potter magickian. The merger of all these fields is the obvious step in the evolution of magick. So, if you can relinquish your desire to immerse yourself in fantasy, I encourage you to email me.
