ATTENTION: G.A.E.A. Project is currently on sabbatical status for the next year. When we move forth with our projects, this page will be updated.

What is G.A.E.A. Project?
We are an organization built from the hope that our local community can draw on the experiences of each other to grow and evolve beyond the limits put upon us by society. We are here to bridge the gaps and strengthen the web of life for our community.

What has been our accomplishments?
From September 1999 to 2004, we sponsored the annual Pagan Pride Day celebrations, which included a day long festival, main ritual and food drive. These events were widely publicized and covered by local news and media sources. Representatives of our group have appeared on KBOO, AM/NW, and in the Oregonian dispelling pagan myths and promoting local events. We have brought together artisans, musicians, teachers, families, and ritualists to shape a rainbow of creativity and love.

Since February 2004, we have been conducting monthly Open Full Moon rituals at different outdoor locations in the Portland Metro area and surrounding communities. They are currently suspended until further notice. But as time permites, we will continue to explore what God/dess provides in natural settings to commune with Nature, and Community.

What is G.A.E.A. Project's future path?
We will continue our mission to promote Growth, Activism, Education and Awareness. We reaccepted the mantle of producing Portland Pagan Pride in 2007 and will continue to promote religious education, tolerance and diversity through this medium.
We will continue to expand our scope of activities as we work to promote our local culture and residents.

Finally, What is our Mission?

G.A.E.A. Project strives for balance in the daily application of our philosophies by drawing from the four basic elements of Earth, Fire, Air, and Water.

Earth = Growth
We can't work the web of life if we don't connect our strands. Our goal is to be a contact point and networking hub for our community. By weaving the webs between urban and rural, group and solitary, between all traditions, we show the world our solidarity and how we can grow as a people.

Fire = Activism
This country was built on the principles of Freedom of Religion. Pagans have the same rights as everyone else to worship our Gods as we choose. We fight for the right to live free from religious discrimination and intolerance and will do what is necessary to protect that right. We take pride in our beliefs and stand tall for religious equality for all faiths and traditions.

Air = Education
Knowledge is power, and knowledge without action is but half a person. That being true, we present to the public what Pagans are and what we are not. We educate the misinformed and offer opportunities for enlightenment. Also, we advocate self-education before all else.

Water = Awareness
We advocate being fully aware of what is around you at all times. By supporting community events and causes, it gives us the opportunity to share awareness with others. Open eyes foster open minds, and being fully open allows love to flow where needed.

If you would like to become a part of this vision, please contact us. We would love to hear from you!
