Group Overview: There are some great groups already out there, for example the witches meetup and portland meetup groups, both of which have some great people involved. Unfortunately, my schedule doesn't always match a lot of the schedules out there. There are others like me, to be sure, as well.
I am simply trying to create some sort of gathering of people who, like me, can't seem to find a group. After many emails and schedule conflicts I decided to create one. I am not qualified to be a High Priest and am not trying to be such. I would simply like to get together with others in an environment where we can discuss the tarot, calling the Watchtowers, ethics, etc... and share knowledge. I love my solitary practice but would like a means of bouncing ideas off of others and hearing other's experiences. Whether the group turned into a coven (and what form it would take) or not would depend on the wishes of the group.
I am toying with a variety of ideas. There are already coffee shop meetings out there, already web-based groups, and groups that meet at various esbats and sabbats. How about another one of these? Perhaps a group that meets during full moon at midnight? This might not be preferable to most... but there are many of us for whom it would.
If you are a solitary, or not, that would like to start a group where the focus is mainly to get together, share stories, learn methods, and do things pagan and witchy. Lets create something together.
The name is from a trail I hike often in Forest Park in downtown Portland, the wildwood trail. As I get time I will create a webpage to go along with this listing.
We had another listing on Yahoo Groups with many members but we are in the process of moving over to the new web address listed above. More conducive to communication and not only by emails.
