Jefferson State Pagan Alliance

Age Range/Type: Family
Located in: Medford, Oregon
Key Contact: Kirsten

Spiritual Path: Social/Political Pagan
Status: Group Forming
Community Support: Open Circles... Teaching Available

Group Overview: The Jefferson State Pagan Alliance is an organization we are getting off the ground as a social networking and political awareness organization for the Southern Oregon and Northern California area often locally referred to as Jefferson State.

The mode of the organization is to help bring practitioners of any Pagan path out of the woodwork, and give an open, healthy and safe environment to explore one's spirituality, organize for social events, political activism, and help those in need in our community.

We want to get together to form the basis and structure of the group in September, and create and discover the Pagan community in the area.

Much of the area is rural, fairly conservative (depending on the area of Jefferson State you live in this can vary widly) , and has a Pagan community that is much less cohesive and visible than others on the West Coast. The fear of the greater community can rule one's life, especially if dominated by a highly conservative family or workplace. We are here to create a safe space to come to and provide resources for those in need, as well as plan social events, and awareness events.

One goal is to be able to coordinate with other minority groups in Medford/Ashland area to run a tolerance section in the Pear Blossom Fair, Ashland Fourth of July Fair, Grants Pass Boatnik, and other locally attended events in order to broaden awareness in a positive light.

This is a long way to go from where we are now, but it will be worth it. If you are up to joining us for any of the above events or social opportunities, please contact me for schedule information.

Love and Blessings,

Citana
